Employment Experience
Princeton University, Laboratory Animal Resources, Carl Ichan Genomics Facility
October 2023- April 2024
Animal Care Technician
Maintains the health and welfare of our animal colonies on research studies for Princeton Genomics faculty members. Responsible for documenting animal observations, breeding patterns, maintaining proper caging and diet, and working with veterinary staff to care for sick or injured animals.
Labcorp, Animal Operations, Somerset, NJ
July 2023- October 2023
Study Technician I
Responsible for collecting, documenting and managing data including animal observations, test material administration, and clinical sample collection in compliance with SOPs, GLPs, and regulatory agency guidelines. Additionally responsible for managing the health and welfare of our laboratory animals.
United States Department of Agriculture, APHIS- PPQ
June 2022- Nov. 2022
Biological Technician
The goals of our research team were to develop and deploy attractants to lure Lycorma delicatula to various sites and trees. We also observed behavioral patterns such as mating and sex ratio to contribute to the USDA’s mission of protecting crops and other plants from these pests
Gained proficiency in field data collection including trapping, luring, and population density assessments
Lehigh Valley Zoo, Schnecksville, PA
Summer 2022
Zoo Ambassador- Docent and Volunteer Coordinator
Educated guests about wildlife conservation efforts and our animals’ stories
Managed weekend giraffe feedings including maintaining safety and health of guests and animals
Research Projects
“A balancing act: gait kinematics and behaviors of C. atratus running on narrow substrates”
2023; publication in prep
Advisor: Dr. Alyssa Stark
Investigates changes to the tripod gait of tropical gliding ants as they traversed narrow glass and rough substrates from a kinematic and behavioral perspective. Video data was collected in December 2022 on STRI’s BCI in Panama.
Research resulted in several poster presentations, an oral presentation, and a thesis paper
Received funding via two Villanova Research grants and NSF award- 2015817
Stark Lab members on a night hike on Barro Colorado Island, Panama (2022)
"One Last Wish: Decision Making at the End of Life”
2022
Advisor: Dr. Mark Doorley
This paper takes a theoretical approach to death as we attempt to make important end of life decisions and define a “good death”. This research investigates the ethical implications of hospice care in aiding us in this goal. The project culminated in a final thesis paper and “Pecha Kucha” presentation.
Received funding via the Connelly Fellowship
Villanova Ethics concentration cohort (2022)
